"I was 6 years old when I learned Robin Hood was filmed in Bidwell Park. Ever since, I’ve enjoyed a magical feeling at One Mile, surrounded by all those trees. I love the way the light comes through the canopy, the variety and size of trees and the different patterns in their bark. My favorite time to be there is during the late months of summer, early in the morning or late afternoon, when the warm golds and greens are especially rich. Cold winter days feel entirely different and are equally beautiful, but the long shadows and warm colors of summer are what I hoped to express in this piece." ~ Jake
