Shipping and Returns

Thank you for your order!

We appreciate your business and are excited to share Jake Early's artwork with you. Below are our shipping and returns "terms and conditions." It details everything you need to know before purchasing with us online.  Fine art does not ship like ordinary products. It must be properly suspended and wrapped to ensure safe delivery.  The terms and conditions detail what liability we accept after your order is processed.

If you are in Northern California, or plan to visit soon, remember that you can buy from our retail store, Chico Paper Company, and save on freight. Chico Paper Company has all Jake Early serigraphs, both framed and unframed, on display.

Shipping

Chico Paper Company has been shipping fine art for over 40 years. They know what works and how to properly ship your purchase.  Your Jake Early serigraphs (unframed) are handled with cotton gloves and shipped to you, fully insured,  in a plastic sleeve and a shipping carton, properly suspended and secured.  This ensures that the prints will be in archival condition without blemishes, creases, tears, dirt, or fingerprints when you recieve it.  Your art will not be shipped in a shipping tube.  While they are less expensive to ship, tubes are not appropriate for shipping Early's serigraphs, which may scratch or crease if rolled. FedEx shipping is the method used, as their conveyors and rollers are far less likely to damage fine art than those of other carriers.  If you desire to ship with a carrier other than FedEx, or want us to ship in a tube, please conact us at sales@jakeearlyart.com and we will advise you of cost and disclaimers.

Your art will be shipped suspended within a custom built carton. This is fine art, and must be protected during the shipping process to ensure it arrives to you in archival condition.  The extra time and effort taken on our end will be visible when you receive your artwork.  As such, you will be charged a $25 handling charge, built in, in addition to the FedEx freight charges. Freight is a significant additional cost to your print, but it is unavoidable if you want fine art to arrive in the condition you expect. You can avoid this charge by picking up your art in our retail store, Chico Paper Company. Thank you for your understanding. Also, please consider recycling the packaging!

California state sales tax of 8.25% will be charged on orders shipping within the state of California. Customers shipping to an address outside the US will be responsible for all duties and taxes due upon arrival.

All shipments are insured for the full retail value with FedEx, up to $1,000. We will not ship more than $1000.00 worth of art in a single carton for this reason.  Each of your boxes will be individually insured.  Once the shipment leaves our shop, we are no longer liable for it.  FedEx (or your carrier) now owns the item until it is delivered to you, at which time you own it.  If any shipment arrives to you with the packaging damaged, or if you suspect any damage, please notify your delivery driver immediately and do not open anything. You must take up any claims for damage with FedEx (or your carrier).  Do not return damaged product to Jake Early Art as they will be refused, along with any shipping charges due.

Jake Early Art does not allow refunds or exchanges on original art pieces. We will not accept returns for any reason. If you feel that a return is warranted, please contact us before attempting to return: admin@jakeearlyart.com, or, contact Chico Paper Company at 530-891-0900.
